Bigger Than You is a photographic series about women's sexuality and the emotions that come with desire, love, and romantic connection. Some feelings are too large to hold, so I made the images to match that scale. The woman at the center of the series is bright, lush, and inviting. She moves through declarations of love, need, hurt, and longing, and sometimes dissolves into color altogether. Where does lust end and love begin, what happens when they collide?
Final Images
Process
This began as a shoot I planned, photographed, and styled myself, including preparing the model. Images from that session also appear in my Isn't She Lovely project. I used Adobe Photoshop, Picsart, and Adobe Express to color grade and layer the images. Color became the emotional language of the series. The following pages document the colorways I tested. I chose the negative because it relates to an X-ray, the sense of seeing inside a person. The idea connects directly to the emotional core of the shoot.
